MSI Intrinsically Safe Hall Effect sensors feature the same high quality construction and materials as our standard Hall Effect speed sensors. They are designed and developed for each specific customer application.

The Instrinsically Safe certifications held by Motion Sensors allow for customization of a sensor, providing the ability to design a fit, form and function equivalent to the legacy sensor. Custom Hall Effect sensors can be provided for applications that require one unit up to thousands of units; with lead-times of weeks versus months.

These sensors are certified intrinsically safe to:
  • CSA (with NRTL/C) for:
    - Ex ia IIC: Class I, Zone 0: Class I, Groups A, B, C, D; Class II, Groups E, F, G; Class III;
    - Ex ia IIA: Class I, Zone 0: Class I, Group D; Class II, Groups E, F, and G; Class III
  • ATEX (2014/34/EU) for Ex II 1 G, Ex ia IIC T4 and T2, and Ex ia IIA T4 and T2
  • IECEx for Ex ia IIC T4 or T2; Ex ia IIA T4 or T2
